As the season is slowly coming to an end, TCN takes another look at TripAdvisor’s top 10 restaurants on the island of Hvar.
It has been over a month (July 29) since we last looked at TripAdvisor’s top 10 restaurants on the island, and interestingly enough, quite a bit has changed in the rankings. Here’s a look at the current top 10.
1. Dalmatino: Located in Hvar town, Dalmatino remains on top since we last looked, and fortunately for them, Dalmatino has consistently stayed in the top spot for years on end. Just over a month ago, Dalmatino had 1,900 reviews, and as of today, an astounding 2,163.
2. Konoba Kokot: Located in Dol on Hvar island, Konoba Kokot has jumped up in the rankings from #8 to #2 – making quite a leap! Serving traditional Dalmatian fare like “peka” and complimentary travarica, Kokot has 181 reviews.
3. Fig Cafe Bar: Dropping down just one notch from #2 to #3, Fig is located in Hvar town and came onto the restaurant scene in 2015. Run by a Californian and an Australian, Fig came to fruition through the concept that Hvar needed something different, creative, and unlike any other restaurant in town. Fig currently has 376 reviews.
4. The Wine Bar – Tri Prsuta: Located in Hvar town, Tri Prsuta had not made the top 10 list the last time we checked. Tucked in an alleyway, Tri Prsuta serves small bites and a selection of Croatian wines. They currently have 176 reviews.
5. Black Pepper: As with most restaurants on the list, Black Pepper is located in Hvar town. One of the newest restaurants in Hvar town, Black pepper is currently #5, having dropped one down in the ranking from its #4 spot the last time we checked. Off to a strong start nonetheless, Black Pepper has 194 reviews and serves local food with a contemporary twist.
6. 50 Hvar: Having moved just a tad down from #3 to #6, 50 Hvar is located in Hvar town and is the place to go for burgers and champagne. With a New Yorker as the owner, it’s no surprise that the burgers are quality, boasting different flavors like truffle burgers and triple cooked fries. 50 Hvar currently has 325 reviews.
7. Lungo Mare: Another Hvar town restaurant, Lungo Mare was the #5 spot last time we checked, but now holds its own as a steady #7. Traditional Dalmatian cuisine like grilled squid and black risotto, Lungo Mare currently has 467 reviews.
8. Konoba Vrisnik: Located in the town of Jelsa, Konoba Vrisnik was not on the top 10 list last time we checked. Boasting Dalmatian specialities like octopus peka and grilled meats, Konoba Vrisnik has a large outdoor terrace but reservations are suggested. Konoba Vrisnik has 132 reviews.
9. Zori Restaurant: Located in Palmizana on the island of Hvar, Zori moved down just a few spots from #6 to #9 in the last month. Located right on the waterfront, Zori has specialties like bison burgers and aberdeen angus beef, amongst a wide selection of seafood. Zori currently has 383 reviews.
10. Alviz: Remaining at #10 is Alviz, located in Hvar town. Although the pizza seems to be a sure winner, Alviz has a wide selection of Dalmatian specialties like pašticada, grilled scampi, and octopus salad. Alviz has 465 reviews.
