In the municipality of Povljana on the island of Pag, a 140 million kuna strategic investment for a campsite will come to fruition: Autokamp Punta Nova.
Campsite Punta Nova is one of the largest planned investments for tourism currently in Croatia. The investment company is Nova Camping headquartered in Povljana, and it is a company founded by Effectus Consulting in Zadar – an already well-established company with successful managers in tourism, brothers Zvonimir and Goran Tudorović.
The value of investments for Punta Nova is 139.3 million kuna, bringing a small tourist city to a 5-star retreat. The campsite is anticipated to have 500 camping parcels, 85 camp spaces, 4 sanitary facilities and 250 mobile homes for a total accommodation capacity of 2,200 people. The campsite would employ 20 full-time and up to 145 seasonal workers, with another 40 employees in facilities that will be leased. The camping area is slightly larger than 28 hectares.
The Mayor of Povljana Ivo Pogorilić did not hide his excitement after the Government decided to approve the eco camp on the tip of cape Rastovac in Povljana.
“The campsite will encourage the development of not only tourism, but also everything else in our municipality and I’m happy that the project would be implemented as much as all other residents of Povljana,” states Pogorilić. He adds that not only will this campsite create jobs, but it will also help the small economy on the island, helping locals sell what they produce.
The campsite will also include restaurant and shopping facilities, a water park, spa, gymnasium and sports fields.
