Disciplinary judge of the First Division, Saša Pavličić-Bekić, has adopted a decision to discharge the North stands at Poljud stadium. Hajduk Split will see games without fans in the North, and will have to pay a 30 thousand kuna fine, reported Index.hr yesterday.
Pavličić-Bekić has been sending “final warnings” to those in the North at Poljud (Torcida) but this time Hajduk has received severe punishment. Due to constant violation of protocol, the introduction and use of pyrotechnic articles, and sometimes violence in their scandals, Hajduk fans are considered recidivist.
Hajduk Split this Sunday will host Inter Zaprešić. Due to the sentence imposed by disciplinary judge for HNS, Saša Pavličić-Bekić, the northern stands of the stadium Poljud will be closed for spectators.
Hajduk had initially set out to appeal the decision, but in the statement they have issued this morning, they have decided to withdraw their intent to appeal.
“This HNS has repeatedly proved that one should not expect justice nor the benevolence of any of their institutions. While not the same impunity for law enforcement personnel, it is pointless to expect a decision favorable to the interests of Croatian football. We are aware that the purpose of punishment is closing part of the stands and the stadium for the match against Dinamo, in order to once again send a message to fans that are in their vision of football undesirable, not taking into account the organizational and security aspects of such decisions.
Given the obvious intent and the fact that all of our complaints of the same are rejected, our initial appeal is withdrawn.
Hajduk is open for cooperation with all who wish well to Croatian football and who wish to engage in addressing the underlying causes of the problem. Our goal is a fair and healthy football and equality for all clubs and full stadiums. This HNS leadership does not want nor can achieve that,” concluded the club.
Spectators with tickets for the north stands will be able to enter through other open entrances to the west and east grandstand.
