Bad Weather: Catamaran and Ferry Cancellations for Today

Due to bura winds, the Jadrolinija catamaran lines from Split will not be in operation today.

Slobodna Dalmacija reports on January 6, 2017 that due to strong winds, all catamaran lines will not be running connecting Split with the islands, and the ferry lines from Split-Vis, Makarska-Sumartin (Brac), Drvenik-Sucuraj (Hvar) and Drvenik Veliki-Mali Drvenik (Trogir) will not be in operation today, announced Ante Mrvica, coordinator of Jadrolinija Split and navigable areas on Friday. 

On the high seas, strong winds are blowing that are reaching speeds of around 130 kilometers per hour. There are occasional wave heights above three meters as well, said Mrvica.

The strong winds in the night from Thursday to Friday damaged the power lines in the area of Kila in Split, where no electricity remained for around 200 households. In addition, the village Korešnica in Žrnovnica east of Split remained without power for around 300 homes, reports the Elektrodalmacija whose workers on Friday are on the ground to remove the faults on the transmission line.
