Travel journalist Rudolf Abraham gave hotel Navis “10/10” on their offer of service and facilities, and added that the hotel is one of the best he visited in the last 20 years in this region
The Telegraph, one of the most popular British daily newspapers, expressed their satisfaction for a hotel in Opatija. More specifically, reporter, journalist and travel writer Rudolf Abraham praised the newly built hotel Navis in Opatija not only with high marks, but stated that the Navis hotel is certainly one of the best he has visited in Croatia over the last 20 years.
Abraham gushes over the “striking architecture” and “designer touches” of the hotel, before adding that the unique location truly makes for an unforgettable stay.
“Located on the coast between Opatija and Rijeka in Croatia’s Kvarner region (in Preluk Bay) the Navis is built into the steep rocky slope just above the sea, on the site of an old disco. A slip road provides access, and it’s just a 10-minute walk from the Navis to the bijou fishing village of Volosko.”
While Abraham marked the hotel with mostly 8’s and 9’s, the service and facility received a perfect score of 10/10. While the hotel surely offers a bar, restaurant, sauna, beach, and spa, we think that the Navis may have taken that extra step for excellence.
“The Navis has a spa and wellness area, secure underground parking, a small lobby bar, a magnificent waterside location and an absolutely outstanding restaurant. There’s a small pebble beach down a flight of steps from the garage. The spa features an indoor pool in a light-flooded area with sea views, leading out onto its own large terrace, and offers Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, and massage. Steps to the garage provide direct access to beach without having to traipse through the hotel. A jetty providing direct access to the hotel by boat is planned for 2018. Service is impeccable, both at reception and in the restaurant.”
