Beach Male Vruje in Vodice will have higher water temperatures which could extend the swimming season in the area.
Following a public tender, the City of Vodice has entered into an agreement with the company Sarađen doo, Stankovci to begin work on the second phase of planning for the town beach Male Vruje. The project is worth nearly 9 million kuna, reports Lokalni.hr and the City of Vodice on January 26, 2017.
In this year’s budget, the city of Vodice has secured the necessary resources and financial support provided by the Ministry of Tourism for the decoration of the beach, and at the end of last year the project was approved for co-financing through the Program of Development of Tourism Infrastructure in 2016 in a grant worth one million kuna.
The beach itself will be designed as a closed lagoon and pool which will create a water temperature up to 10 degrees warmer than the sea in the surrounding areas, enabling the extension of the swimming season before and after the peak tourist season (good news for Spring and Autumn tourists).
In addition to the typical beach facilities, Male Vruje beach also intends to boost the life of the coastal area in the evenings with this new arrangement – and at night the area can serve as a stage or gallery and offer a variety of cultural and artistic activities.
In addition, all of the elements to be used in the new decoration of the beach can be recycled and modularly relocated and upgraded, depending on the future needs and requirements of the destination
The planned works should last four months, allowing Vodice to be ready just in time for the tourist season ahead.
