While we’re slowly reaching the second half of February and hoping for spring to come as soon as possible, there are plenty of things you can check out this weekend in Zagreb to pass the time. If you want to stay warm, you can attend a three-level wine school, and if you don’t mind the cold outside, don’t miss the two free walking tours on Saturday morning.
1. Free Walking Tours
The best thing to you can do this weekend is go on a free tour around the city. You can join the tours at 10 or 11 a.m. in front of the Tourist Information Centre on Ban Jelačić Square.
2. Wine School
For all the wine lovers who’re not sure how to spend their Saturday, why not attend Jelena Šimić Valentić’s Wine School and evolve from a wine lover to a wine connoisseur. There are three levels available, you can attend a single course (250, 300, 350 kn, from basic to advanced level), or all three of them, in which case you get a 10% discount.
3. Wedding Expo
If you’re getting married soon, or if you’re just looking for ideas for your Pinterest board, this weekend should be dedicated to visiting the biggest wedding fair in the region, the Wedding Expo at Westgate Shopping City, 17-19 Feb.
4. Zagreb Snowflakes Trophy 2017
Children and parents alike will love this two day competition at Dom sportova. The admirable grace and precision of beautifully dressed and colourful teams who glide on the ice as one will keep you on the edge of your seat.
5. Dža ili Bu + No No Instigator i Rabat
If you’re not really sure what you’d like to listen to, but you feel like listening to some great tunes, why not stop by KSET on Saturday. You can listen to 3 bands play punk rock and post-punk, and all that at a price of 25 kn, starting from 8 p.m.
