“Mouthful of Islands”, a fair dedicated to island products, will be held during the month of April in Split.
In an effort to give island products more visibility, the agency Best of Brač, together with the interinsular platform for networking islanders the “Island Movement”, have decided to create a space for all interested island manufacturers to sell their products, reports Split.com.hr on March 30, 2017.
Symbolically titled “Mouthful of Islands”, fair attendees will be given an opportunity to taste and purchase goods from the islands, with a different island presented each week. The fair will take place from April 1 to May 1, 2017, at the Best of the islands info point at the port of Split.
Everyone in Split is invited to “fill their mouths” with the tastes of the islands while trying (and buying) premium island products such as wine, honey, oil, cakes, and handicrafts.
Here is the current program.
April 1-6, 2017 | Šolta | Quality wines and olive oils, honey, cosmetics, “Šolta paprenjak”. There will also be presentations by Rina Klarić Marković for private accommodation, Tihana Mravak Sivić from Martinis Marchi, and Peter Glavurtić for family tourism.
April 7-14, 2017 | Korčula | Cultural and artistic associations Naši Trudi will bring together some 15 renowned and established artists and creative people from Dubrovnik-Neretva and Split-Dalmatia County. Korčula treats and sweets, and olive oils, St. John’s Wort oil, soaps, award winning jams, arancini, candied almonds will be on offer
April 14-20, 2017 | Hvar | Promotion of island products from Hvar including canvas bags, organic red wine, natural cosmetics, and many interesting artifacts, oils, sweets and products of lavender by the skilled people from association Trim.
April 21-27, 2017| Vis | Award-winning extra virgin olive oil by Zeljko Vojković produced on their farm in Podstražje.
April 28-30, 2017 | Ist | A colorful and cheerful range of souvenirs from the island of Ist made by Mirela Maurin.
May 1 | Brač | From May, the offer of this space will host products by the agency Best of Brač and its partners and associates.
