It’s no surprise that the city of Split is full of hidden treasures, and just yesterday a gem bringing us back to the golden era of 1969/1970 was discovered.
Danijell Nikolla, known as the man behind Corto Maltese and San Sustipanske Noć, experienced quite the “throwback” moment yesterday on his walk through the pathway from the fish market to Prokurative.
It turns out that after many decades, ‘Ekran’ has finally decided to remove the old movie posters along this path. And the gems beneath them? Posters from the 16th Split Summer Festival in 1969/1970! To everyone’s delight, Split even had a rich cultural program back then.
The posters are for the most part visible and show that this 1970’s music festival brought in international names from France, England, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Germany, Malta, and Romania, reports Split.com.hr on April 4, 2017.
Talk about nostalgia!
