The 2017 / 2018 concert season at Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall was announced on Friday, May 19, and it seems that it will be one of their most diverse programmes yet.
The new season starts on October 7 when Hollywood actor John Malkovich will perform at Lisinski. The new programme, titled “Lisinski over the rainbow” or “All colours of music, whether you like it or not” will comprise 14 Saturday concerts. John Malkovich will open the season as the narrator, onstage with Anastasya Terenkova on piano, Radovan Vlatković playing the French horn and accompanied by Varaždin Chamber Orchestra.
Other famous musicians to perform at Lisinski include Ivan Fischer, Viktoria Mullova, Edward Gardner, Ray Chen, Aljoša Jurinčić, Pat Metheny and The Beatles Revival Orchestra. See the full programme here.
Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra announced their new season as well, starting on September 21, and a brand new Steinway & Sons piano was presented, which was tested by pianist Martina Filjak at the press conference.
