International Football Federation FIFA has published the latest world rankings for the month of July.
The Croatian national football team ranked 15th in the latest FIFA rankings that were published on Thursday, July 6, 2017. The Croats have advanced three places since their last ranking, now sitting behind England and Peru and in front of Mexico and Uruguay, reports HNS on July 6, 2017.
At the top of the list is Germany who defeated Chile in the Confederations Cup final last Sunday (1:0). The Germans advanced ahead of Brazil and Argentina, sitting in the number one spot for the first time in two years.
When looking at Croatia’s rival group for the European Qualifications for World Cup 2018, a historic success has been achieved by Iceland, who now ranks 19th thanks to an excellent win against Croatia. Ukraine now ranks 25th having jumped up 12 places from their last ranking. Turkey has fallen to 33rd, Finland has fallen to 110th, and Kosovo has fallen to 177th.
