World Cup 2018 Playoffs: Croatia Draws Greece!

On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, the official draw of the European playoffs for World Cup 2018 was held in Zurich, and Croatia has finally learned of the opponent that will stand between them and the World Cup competition next year.

It is the moment we have all been waiting for, and Croatia has drawn Greece in the draw for the playoff round of World Cup 2018!

The Croatian national team was one of the top-seeded teams in the draw, along with Italy, Switzerland, and Denmark. Croatia’s possible opponents in the draw included Ireland, Northern Ireland, Sweden, and Greece.

Northern Ireland has matched up against Switzerland, Ireland will face Denmark, and Sweden will face Italy in the final playoff round. 

Croatia has played four qualifying matches against Greece, achieving one win, two draws and one defeat. In two friendly matches, Croatia has recorded one loss and one draw. 

The playoff series will be played from November 9 to 11, 2017 in Croatia, with rematches from November 12 to November 14, 2017 in Greece.
