The revenues are up 33 percent compared to last year.
Traffic of motorways managed by the Croatian Motorways (HAC) public company increased by 4 percent over the past weekend compared to the comparable weekend last year, while the toll revenues increased by 33.3 percent. Other concessionaires also report great business results, reports tportal.hr on 17 July 2017.
From 1 July to the end of September, a 10-percent increase in tolls on motorways managed by Croatian Motorways (HAC) and the Rijeka-Zagreb Motorway (ARZ) public company is in effect. These seasonal price hike followed the previous increase of toll prices by an average of 4.4 percent which was introduced in April. Motorways in Istria managed by Bina Istra added seasonal price increases three years ago.
On the motorways within the jurisdiction of the HAC, there were 608,155 vehicles recorded during the last weekend. The total toll charged stood at 34.7 million kunas plus the value-added tax, announced the HAC on Monday.
In the comparable weekend last year, there were 584,509 vehicles, while the total toll collected was 26 million kuna plus the VAT. Thus, the vehicle traffic increased by 4 percent, while revenues from tolls are 33.3 percent higher this year than during the comparable weekend last year.
According to data from the Rijeka-Zagreb Motorway public company, on the highways under the jurisdiction of this concessionaire, while also includes the Krk Bridge, during the weekend from 14 to 16 July, there were 307,657 vehicles recorded. The total toll was charged in the amount of 16.1 million kunas, plus VAT.
In the comparable weekend last year (15-17 July), 280,906 vehicles were recorded, with drivers paying the toll in the amount of 11.5 million kunas, plus VAT. This means that the number of vehicles this year increased by 9.5 percent, while toll revenues rose by 39.8 percent.
At the Zagreb-Macelj motorway, which connects Zagreb with Slovenian border, Austria and the rest of Western Europe, during this weekend there were 111,689 vehicles, which was an increase of 3,208 vehicles or 3 percent.
At the Istrian motorways, a total of 155,228 vehicles was recorded, which was 2.4 percent more than in the comparable period last year, reported Bina Istra.
