Given that this year’s wildfire season has already exhausted huge resources and funds earmarked for firefighting in Croatia, humanitarian organization Cro Unum has found a way to help.
Croatian humanitarian organization Cro Unum has organized a football tournament with veterans Hajduk and Dinamo, members of Cro Unum, and stars of the humanitarian scene, in an effort to raise money for the Firefighters Association of Split-Dalmatia County. The tournament will be held on Sunday, July 23, from 18:30 at the FESB sports field, reports Dalmatinski Portal on July 20, 2017.
“Over the last few days, while we have witnessed the devastating fires that seriously jeopardized Dalmatia and the city of Split, we have also witnessed the heroic efforts of our firefighters who have fought tirelessly to stop them from spreading, preventing catastrophic consequences of a larger scale. Given that this year’s fire-fighting season has started dreadfully, huge resources have been exhausted to extinguish the fires, and every last bit of help is needed for our firefighters,” explained Cro Unum’s motive for the event.
There will be many Split socialities, as well as many celebrated athletes participating in the event on Sunday, including Ivan Buljan, Ivica Šurjak, Vilson Džoni, Ivan Gudelj, Nenad Pralija, Nikica Cukrov, Željko Mijač, Dragutin Ćelić, Vlatko Đolonga, Darko Miladin, Hrvoje Vejić, Ivica Mornar, Dragan Primorac, Željko Pavlović, Igor Cvitanović, Fabijan Komljenović, Branko Strupar, Hrvoje Štrok, Drago Vabec, Dalibor Poldrugač, Davor Braun, Alen Peternac, Danijel Štefulj, Roy Ferenčina, Joško Jeličić, Tomislav Madžar, Damir Primorac, Franjo Arapović, Zoran Primorac, Dubravko Šimenc, Igor Štimac and many more.
