Croatian football legend did not answer the calls from the Croatian Football federation, instead he announced his decision to the press
After Ante Čačić announced he would like to include Ivica Olić in the national team one last time in the match against Israel, thus giving him an official farewell and well deserved praise for his past accomplishments, Ivica Olić has contacted Večernji List and denied his interest in such an event.
Since many Croatian supporters, and part of the media are still boycotting the Croatian Football federation along with the national team, it looks like some players are also not happy with the way things are managed in Croatian football. Almost every player that decided to leave the national team in the last few years has expressed his discontent with CFF officials.
Croatian football supporters can only hope that some of them will have the same courage whilst being part of the team, as Danijel Subašić had on a few occasions when he expressed his feelings about the ay our football is currently run . It is impossible to imagine that all other players are oblivious to the current situation in CFF. The fact is that they have the power to change things, since, at the moment, national team’s success is used by the CFF like a fig leaf to cover all the failures of the federation.
