Actor Richard Madden will play the lead role in the film ’Ibiza’, which will be shot at Zrće Beach on the island of Pag.
“I’ll act for free just to meet him,” a potential extra in the filming of the new Netflix comedy ‘Ibiza’ told 24sata.hr on September 2, 2017. So, who are they talking about?
You can take Croatia out of Game of Thrones but you can’t take the Croatia out of the Game of Thrones cast, it seems, as one of the show’s favorite characters will continue to film in Croatia for his newest project.
Precisely, British actor Richard Madden (31), who is known for his role as Robb Stark in the popular HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’, will interpret the primary role of a DJ who is admired by three young friends in the new Netflix comedy ‘Ibiza’.

The film is currently holding a casting call for extras at the Westin Hotel in Zagreb, and from September 13-15, 2017, the extras will have a chance to perform in a movie-set party scene on the island of Pag.
“It will be exciting and interesting,” said the casting director to the future extras.
Priority will be given to those who are free as early as September 11th and 12th when the film will be organizing their test shoots. The extras will be provided with transportation, accommodation and food on Pag, and although the daily fee is 200 HRK, casting interest has been relatively quiet.
The organizers have stated that such a weak response was because they already had a base of extras, and this casting call was specifically for new ones.
The “friends” who will chase the DJ version of Madden around in the film will be interpreted by Gillian Jacobs (34), Phoebe Robinson (32) and Vanessa Bayer (35).
The film follows a businesswoman, played by Jacobs, who travels to Spain with her friends to close a big business deal. In Ibiza, Jacobs falls in love with a renowned DJ and realizes that this spark of life means more than the job she hates.
Julia Roberts may also make an appearance in the film as her husband is behind the movie’s cinematography. Which role she will play has yet to be announced.
The director of ‘Ibiza’ is Alex Richanbach, who also successfully directed the comedy ‘We Are Young’. The movie script was written by actress and screenwriter Lauryn Kahn.
The real question, however, is whether or not viewers will be able to accept Madden in this new role. While we are used to seeing him in the Westeros atmosphere of Game of Thrones, how will fans adapt to Madden as a popular DJ from the 21st century? Will it be similar to how Game of Throne’s fans reacted when famous singer Ed Sheeran made an appearance?
One thing we do know for certain is that Pag is getting its fair share of promo this year, from the new BBC Three series ‘The Brits are Coming‘ to the filming of this new Netflix project. What will happen to the island next year, we can’t say.
Stay tuned.
