The President will spend five days on tour of Dubrovnik-Neretva County

President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is temporarily moving her office to Dubrovnik from October 25 to 29, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on October 23, 2017.

During her official stay in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, the President’s Office will be operating at the County seat in Ranjina palace in Dubrovnik. Grabar-Kitarović has quite a busy schedule planned: on Wednesday morning, she will meet with Prefect Nikola Dobroslavić and Dubrovnik Mayor Mato Franković, followed by meetings with multiple local mayors and County representatives. On Thursday, she will attend meetings regarding the future of Pelješac bridge. As part of her schedule, she will also pay a visit to the Neretva river. On Friday, the President will visit the islands of Mljet and Lastovo, followed by meetings with representatives of Municipality Dubrovačko Primorje (Dubrovnik Littoral) on Saturday.

On Sunday, the last day of her official stay in Dubrovnik, she will attend the ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the city’s liberation in the Homeland war.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković considers the practice of temporarily moving the President’s office to other parts of Croatia to be a positive one, as it enables the President to get better acquainted with the citizens’ problems, as well as with social and economic development in various parts of the country. “At this point, I think her visit to the southernmost part of Croatia is welcome, and it has been in planning for a long time. I am certain that her presence in Dubrovnik and the county will also be well-received in moments related to remembrance of the Homeland war”, said the PM.

Dubrovnik Mayor Mato Franković stated he plans to introduce the President to certain problems the wider Dubrovnik area is experiencing, such as flawed Croatia Airlines connections with Zagreb.
