In the sixth qualification round for the European U21 Football Championships, Croatia has clinched its fifth victory, a crucial one since it was against rivals for the first place in the group
Croatian U21 national team has won against Spain in Burgos on March 24, 2016. It is an important win, and the success is even bigger as Croatia was missing several key players. In the first match between the opponents played in Rijeka in November, Spain won 3-2.
Šime Ćaleta – Car scored with a header with 36 minutes on the clock, getting Croatia ahead. Six minutes after that, Stipe Perica scored the second for Croatia and added one more in the second half to finish the job. Ante Ćorić was in great shape, assisting for the first two goals, but all the players are to be commended for their performance.
Croatia is now topping the group table, but the job is far from done, as there are four more matches to be played, and the first one is against Estonia on Monday, March, 28 in Zaprešić.
