Huge numbers for the Pearl of the Adriatic!
As DuList writes on the 2nd of November, 2017, in the first ten months of this year, Dubrovnik achieved well known and much talked about tourism results, breaking many records along the way. Specifically, on October the 21st, 2017, for the first time in the history of Dubrovnik’s entire booming tourism industry, four million overnights were realised, including numbers registered via e-visitor and through nautical information.
According to the e-isitor’s registration and e-booking system, from the 1st of January to the 31st of October 2017, 1,133,602 tourists stayed in Dubrovnik, which is 16 percent more than was recorded during the same period of 2016. There were also a massive 3,849,844 overnight stays achieved, equal to 14 percent more than were recorded at the same time last year.
During 2017’s first ten months, the largest number of tourists arrived from the United Kingdom, the USA, Germany, France, Spain, Croatia, Australia, Sweden, Finland and the Republic of Ireland.
In October 2017, 102,775 arrivals were recorded, which is 13 percent more than were recorded during the same month last year, as well as 341,053 nights, which is 11 percent more than was recorded during the same period in 2016. October’s most frequent visitors were tourists from other European countries like the United Kingdom and Germany, followed by tourists from the United States, then by fellow European nations like France, Finland, and Croatia, followed by citizens of more distant countries including Korea, Canada, China and Japan.
In hotel accommodation, from the 1st of January to the 31st of October this year, there were 605,024 guests, an increase of 6 percent compared to the previous year, making up a huge 2,042,459 nights, 4 percent more than last year. When it comes to hotel accommodation, the largest number of guests in the very first ten months of this year are from the United Kingdom, the USA, Germany, France, Croatia, Spain, Sweden, Finland, the Republic of Ireland, Austria and Australia.
In private accommodation, the first ten months of this year welcomed 381,170 arrivals, an impressive 29 percent more than in the same period last year, racking up 1,337,111 nights, which is 24 percent more than in 2016. The largest number of tourists in private accommodation were from the United Kingdom, the USA, France, Germany, Spain, Australia, Italy, Norway, Canada and Sweden.
