Continuing our look at the great Croatian outdoors through the fabulous videos of our favourite man and dog team from Outdoor Croatia, an oldie but a goodie – has a UNESCO World Heritage Site ever looked so spectacular?
I will confess I am becoming mildly obsessed with these videos from Outdoors Croatia. So many outstanding and innovative videos from all parts of Croatia, showcasing the country as a fabulous and diverse adventure tourism destination.
Last year, we featured a viral video about a guy and his dog going through the virgin snow of Plitvice Lakes, one of the most beautiful videos I have ever seen about Croatia. Because I am not particularly smart, it was only this morning that I realised it was also from Outdoors Croatia. It was so good that it is worth sharing again, and with winter coming, how could you not want to experience the beauty of Plitvice Lakes in winter.
Here is how the video is introduced on YouTube:
“Tour of the frozen upper falls and run around the Kozjak lake in complete solitude on fresh snow. My little snowplow is on a leash because of the park rules. It took us 4 hours for 15 kilometers.”
The video was very popular and attacted quite a lot of media attention. I saw some familiar words in the YouTube description – this is the first of them:
“Stunning Winter Croatia: The Husky and UNESCO World Heritage Site
There have been some spectacular videos coming out of Croatia in recent weeks highlighting its winter beauty. In what we plan to be our last on the subject, visit the UNESCO Plitvice Lakes through the eyes of a husky on virgin snow. Famous for its endless sun and fantastic beaches, when people think of the weather in Croatia, these are the images which are usually conjured up. But the country is breathatking, whatever the season, and the success of Advent in Zagreb, coupled with the unusual site of Dubrovnik covered in snow, have highlighted how magical Croatia is in the wintertime. And just one last video – we think… – for perhaps the most breathaking destination of all, and one which attracted over a million tourists last year. The UNESCO World Heritage Site that is Plitvice Lakes. With frozen waterfalls and virgin snow, what better way to experience it than a walk with the dog? All that remains is to include Ante’s introduction, then sit back and watch the winter magic of Croatia unfold. Wow! total-croatia-news”
