The line-up of the upcoming INmusic festival is getting more impressive by the day
As reported by Glas Istre on December 6, 2017, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds will headline the 13th INmusic festival, joining other confirmed artists such as Queens of the Stone Age, Skunk Anansie, David Byrne and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes.
This will be the second time for the massively popular band to visit Zagreb, ten years after their first performance at the very same festival. The 13th edition of INmusic will take place at Jarun from June 25 to 27, 2018.
Many local fans were sad to hear that Cave would be skipping Croatia on his European tour earlier this year, having played shows in Ljubljana and Belgrade instead. The latest announcement from the INmusic crew comes as delightful news, as the extraordinary musician has a cult reputation in these parts, as stated by music critic Aleksandar Dragaš. “Cave really does stand out in the entire singer-songwriter gallery; it’s next to impossible to pinpoint a single weak spot in the 33 years he has been coming out with solo albums”, said Dragaš.
During his latest tour that saw sold-out venues all over Europe, Cave has been promoting his latest studio album ‘Skeleton Tree’. According to the critics, the band has managed to create an entirely new sound, riddled with raw emotion and presented to the audience by unforgettable live performances.
“Expressive as usual and exceptionally dedicated when it comes to his live acts, Nick Cave has adopted a new approach to writing and has been gradually stepping away from the narrative character that’s a trademark of his music, building an intense, direct connection with the audience at his latest shows”, stated the organisers.
Zoran Marić, the director of the INmusic festival, said that more headliners will soon be announced, remarking that the line-up in its current state already makes the festival stand out as one of the best in Europe. “Cave’s current popularity points to the fact it hasn’t been easy to get him, even though he has played in these parts before”, Marić stated.
Marić also announced that the price of festival passes will probably go up in near future: “The current price of 50 euro is three times lower than the next cheapest European festival, but I think the audience is aware of that, judging by the record attendance of foreign visitors at the last INmusic festival”, he said.
