EU funds will finance 85% of the project.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 10th of January, 2018, a visitor center with a range of multimedia and hospitality facilities will be built at Lozovac, with the European Union financing 85% of the project.
The ”doing up” of the Lozovac entrance, otherwise the second European project at Krka National Park, totaling a huge 84.3 million kuna, is expected to be co-financed in the amount of 85 percent of the total amount from the Regional Development Fund.
The news was released on Tuesday the 9th of January, 2018, after the project had successfully passed all the stages of the assessment, and the money is planned to be used to build and equip the visitor center with multimedia, presentation, administrative and catering facilities, car parks and pedestrian areas and more. The architectural decision was signed by the Atmosfera office in the capital, Zagreb.
The focal points of each new NP Krka project were highlighted by director Krešimir Šakić to Poslovni Dnevnik, the main ones are of course, the protection of nature, cultural heritage and sustainable development, stating that the Lozovac visitor center will play a very important role because it will increase the overall quality of the services at Skradinski buk.
Šakić also added that through limiting the number of visitors to the most visited locations within NP Krka, particular attention will be paid to the preservation of the natural values and the quality of the visit. It will be emphasised, through the design of themed programs for specific groups of guests with the aim of motivating them to spend several days in the park, and developing other, less visited areas with additional potential.
