A considerable investment for Učka Nature Park as the ”doing up” of five tourist centres is planned.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 11th of January, 2018, Učka Nature Park is set to get a make over of sizeable proportions to promote education and attract more visitors.

Učka Nature Park, together with its partners Kršan Municipality and Udruga (Association) BIOM’s project “Učka 360°”, foresees the construction and equipping of the Poklon visitor center, three volunteer information centers, an interpretation center and the development of yet more innovative programs, writes Glas Istre.

According to information from Učka Nature Park which was published on their website, the total value of the Učka 360° project is 49.9 million kuna. Of this, 38.5 million kuna are included in the Operational Program “Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020” which is co-financed by the European Union, with 32.7 million non-refundable kuna from the European Regional Development Fund and another 3.4 million kuna from the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund. The rest of the funds for this praiseworthy project were provided by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy from the state budget and partners.

The objectives of the project are to improve the visitor and education system in Učka Nature Park for the purpose of the sustainable use of natural heritage, increasing the attractiveness and diversity of the park’s contents by developing infrastructure and programs for visitors, as well as raising the level of visitor knowledge about Učka Nature Park, ultimately resulting in a better experience and an increase in visitors.
