Croatia takes 79th place on the list.
As ICT Business/Antonio Jularić writes on the 15th of February, 2018, the International Tax Justice Network has announced the results of a new survey of the “Financial Secrets Index 2018”, which revealed which country helps the wealthy to hide property and avoid paying taxes the most, the survey covered 112 countries, including the Republic of Croatia.
According to the study, Switzerland is the most corrupt country in the world, as it has the strongest financial secret. Following Switzerland is the United States of America, followed by the Cayman Islands, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The sixth place was was taken by Luxembourg, behind the tiny European nation lie Germany, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and Guernsey. Croatia is at 79th place out of 112 countries on the ladder.
The organisation estimated that Switzerland is the “grandfather” of tax havens across the world, as well as one of the world’s largest offshore financial centers, and one of the largest jurisdictions for securing financial secrets.
