From Istria to Dubrovnik: Valamar Will Donate More Than 1000 Overnight Stays to Kids

Lauren Simmonds

Valamar’s big heart will beat for the kids once again this year.

As Dubrovacki Dnevnik writes on the 11th of April, 2018, for five consecutive years now, Valamar Riviera has implemented a praiseworthy donation program entitled “1000 days on the Adriatic sea” which provides children without the proper care of a guardian, children from less wealthy families, kids with specific health problems and/or with special needs, holidays in their facilities from Istria and Kvarner, all the way down to the extreme Dalmatian south of Dubrovnik.

The competition has been open from April the 10th, and will remain so until April the 20th, 2018. The terms of the competition and the application form can be downloaded from Valamar Riviera’s website. Participants of the competition must be exclusively institutions, schools and registered associations based in the Republic of Croatia. The results of the competition will be announced no later than on May the 10th, 2018.

In 2017 alone, over one thousand overnight stays were donated to more than 300 children and their carers, and in the last four years of the project, more than 1,500 children from all over Croatia have spent their holidays in Valamar’s facilities.

Croatian citizens have also recognised the immense value of this project, and owing to that, Valamar Riviera is the only company in the whole of the Republic of Croatia to receive the “Pride of Croatia” award for the program last year.

“1000 days on the Adriatic sea” is being implemented within Valamar’s ”Valamar’s big heart” program, through which Valamar Riviera actively and continuously supports local community associations and initiatives, and takes care of the most vulnerable in our society.
