A new addition for Medjimurje.

The hotel has thirty modernly decorated and equipped rooms, a multifunctional hall with its own terrace and views of the Čakovec Perivoj, hotel fitness facilities and three bars.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 20th of April, 2018, Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli opened Hotel Castellum, the first high category hotel (4 star) in Čakovec yesterday. The new facility is aimed at providing full support to business clients, as well as strengthening Medjimurje as a destination and developing tourism in the whole region.

“Creating conditions for encouraging investment in tourism projects, especially those aimed at raising the quality of high-category accommodation, is one of the key goals and priorities of the Croatian Government. This well-thought-out investment is proof that tourism in Croatia doesn’t just happen by itself, but that it’s happening thanks to innovative and creative individuals and companies who’re listening to what the tourist market is seeking, and to consider how to improve the tourist offer by creating high quality content. The realisation of this project will contribute not only to improving the competitiveness of the offer of tourist accommodation, but I believe it will further stimulate the development of tourism in Čakovec as a year-round destination,” Minister Cappelli emphasised, before congratulating the investors on a job well done.

As previously mentioned, the brand new hotel boasts thirty modernly decorated and equipped rooms, a multifunctional hall with its own terrace and views of the Čakovec Perivoj, hotel fitness facilities and three bars. The Watchtower Bar serves a rich buffet breakfast, the Wine Bar boasts a selection of the finest Mediterranean wines, and the Sky Bar on the roof of the hotel overlooks the entire city. Guests will be able to enjoy free parking and electric boilers, and soon, in an even more modern twist, there will even be an e-bike station provided. The hotel is owned by the City projekt company, and the total value of this investment stands at around 20 million kuna.

The Castellum Hotel opens just one part of the already announced almost billion euro investments expected by Croatian tourism in 2018, which include the reconstruction and/or construction of a large number of new hotel units whose strategic importance have been confirmed by the Tourism Development Strategy which will continue on until the year 2020.

In the aforementioned strategy itself, investment in hotel facilities, such as the adding of swimming pools, wellness centres, sports-recreational facilities, entertainment facilities etc has been particularly emphasised, with the goal of attracting more and more visitors throughout the coure of the year.
