Saturday, May 12, 2018, is an essential day for sport in Sinj. Namely, Sinj and the Cetina Krajina will host the contestants of the Dalmatian Trail League (DTL) for the first time. The Cetina Adventure Club, with the patronage of the City of Sinj, TZ Sinj and Split Dalmatia County, will organize the 5th round of the DTL. All points that contestants gain will enter the overall ranking of the League.

Hosting this event is a great honor for the people of Sinj, who are also persistent and successful competitors in numerous track competitions throughout the country. The richness and variety of nature of the Cetina Krajina is an ideal environment for this activity, which is beneficial for the spirit and the body.

The competition is organized into 3 categories:

1. Alka: 33 km, 1700 meters uphill (start 9:30)

2. Čoja: 22 km, 1000 meters uphill (start 10:00)

3. Bara: 11 km, 390 meters uphill (start 10:30)

The start for all categories is at Alojzije Stepinac Promenade (in the center of the town, next to the church of Our Lady of Sinj), and the finish of the race is at the City Pool, Antun Konstantin Matasa 7 (approximately 500 meters away from the start of the race).

Category Explanation:

Category Bara: An 11 kilometer (390 meters uphill) long race passes near all of the most significant sights in Sinj and is intended for walkers, families and recreation, as well as for all those who want to try a track race for the first time. The race begins in front of the church of Our Lady of Sinj, continues to the end of the beautiful Allkar courtyard and climbs up asphalt to the Old Town to the church of Sv. Michael. As it descends, the path leads to a wide macadam path and ascends to the lungs of the town of Sinj, Pavića nebesa. It passes along the entire length of Pavića nebesa through the beautiful pine and oak forests and continues to the northern side of Pavića nebesa through a wide macadam path towards the finish. The track is circular, not technically demanding and is entirely marked with signposts and mountaineering markers.

Category Čoja: 22 kilometers and a 1000 meters ascent, this race begins the same way as the Bara, up to the crossing in Lučane, whereupon it continues on an asphalt road, one kilometer to the entrance to the protected landscape of Sutin, and climbs to the highest peak in the Sinj area, Visošnica (907 mnv ). The trail is properly marked to the top. From the top of Visojšnica, on a wide macadam route, the track goes down to the Sutin Canyon, through Perjanica and to one of the most beautiful parts of the Sinj region, passing the Sutinj mountain stream almost all the way from the spring to Pavića nebesa and the finish. The track is circular, adequately marked, and is intended for experienced competitors and recreationalists.

Category Alka: A 33 kilometer race with a 1700 meter climb begins from the same point as the first two categories, and at Pavića nebesa separates on a wide macadam road and climbs to the most beautiful view of Sinj on top of Visoka 896 mnv. The race is technically quite demanding and continues on a hiking trail towards the top of Visošnica from where it also descends into the Sutin canyon. The Sutin canyon passes on its left side and climbs from the canyon to its northern peak Bukovac, one of the most beautiful peaks from which it looks towards Visoka, the Kamešnica, the Dinara and the Svilaj. The peak of Bukovac goes all the way in the direction of Svilaj to the Kačar area. It is again connected to the technically demanding downhill of Plišivica from where it flows into Lučane and moves towards the finish through a broad macadam. The track is also circular, properly marked, and is intended for experienced competitors and recreationalists.
