Ante Ćorić is the newest player of the Italian great A.S. Roma!
21-year-old Ante Ćorić arrived in Rome on Saturday afternoon before going to the A.S. Roma clinic for a medical examination on Monday morning. The now-former Dinamo Zagreb player went on to sign a five-year contract with the Serie A club, where he’ll earn around 1.2 million euro a year, reports Goal.hr on May 28, 2018.

Dinamo should receive 7 million euro plus a million in bonuses from the transfer, through Italian media has reported that this bonus won’t be activated until Ante makes his first appearance for the club. This could mean that Roma are planning to first send Ćorić to their younger team (Primavera) or on loan. This, of course, is just speculation.

The Italian league is considered to be very dangerous for young players, and many Croatian footballers fall after their clubs transfer them to second, and third league teams. Some of the more prominent Croatian footballers did not find any success in Italy including Ante Rebić, Andrija Balić who went to Italy as the most talented league player, Sluga who never got a chance, and Vukušić who arrived as the top striker in his league.

The players that went to the Serie A from Dinamo, however, have succeeded. And even if they did not play in Italy, they achieved a celebrated football career elsewhere. Italy has thus paid the Zagreb club 83.4 million euro for players, and with Ćorić’s signing, that amount will exceed 90 million.

At the top are Batista (36 million euro), Cassano (28.5 million euro), Montella (25 million), and Mohamed Salah (15 million euro), though Ćorić is more expensive than Schick, Gonalons, Riise, and Kolarov.
Roma is known for doing an excellent job with their younger players, and the club welcomed Cassano, Iturbe, Zebin, Lamela, Krkić, Ljaic, Pjanić, and Marquinhos and 21 years of age or younger.
