All major producers such as Vindija, PIK Vrbovec and MI Pivac are expected to be licensed.
As Marija Brnic/Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 18th of June, 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture has confirmed that their call to the Chinese inspection in charge of issuing export certificates for milk and other dairy products has now been accepted, and their visit, during which the inspection is set to take place, is expected before the end of this year.
This visit, for which Croatia’s domestic producers have been waiting years, will finally see the sales channel opened for China’s enormous market, and the Chinese side earlier announced that they have every intention of speeding up decision-making procedures on the possibility of Croatian food placement, as well as the possible signing of protocols with Croatia.
Given the fact that the Italians have been waiting for such certificates for a decade since the beginning of the initial negotiations, shorter procedures and quicker decision-making is being very much encouraged.
”China imports large amounts of of consumable milk, more than 50,000 tons a year of it, and there is huge demand for cheese and meat, there’s logically a big interest from our manufacturers to obtain these licenses,” stated Branko Bobetić from Croatiastočar.
All major producers such as Vindija, PIK Vrbovec and MI Pivac, as well as several cheese makers are expected to granted the necessary licenses.
