The person suspected of killing a young Briton on the island of Pag yesterday morning has been arrested.
The police have arrested a man suspected of murdering a young British man. The killing happened yesterday early morning at the Zrće beach on the Croatian island of Pag, reports Index.hr on June 28, 2018.
“As part of the criminal investigation into a murder and an attempted murder at Zrće, this morning at 9.30 am, at the Split airport, police officers of the Split-Resnik border police station have arrested a 25-year-old British citizen linked to these criminal offenses.
During the criminal investigation, yesterday evening the police gained knowledge about the potential perpetrator, and with further investigation and operational work, his full identity was established,” the police announced.
“Due to the danger that he might attempt to escape, a warrant for his arrest was issued and all police officers were informed about him, with emphasis on border crossings and airports.
The 25-year-old was arrested at the exit border control in an attempt to leave the Republic of Croatia. During the day, he will be transported for further criminal investigation to the Novalja Police Station on the island of Pag.
The criminal investigation, in cooperation with the relevant State Attorney’s Office, continues in order to identify other participants and all the circumstances of the incident,” the police announced.
“We have identified the person suspected of having committed a murder on Zrće. The warrant Information was distributed throughout the system, to all police stations, and the person was arrested at the Split airport this morning,” said Interior Minister Božinović.
