Mate Rimac goes from strength to strength.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 14th of August, 2018, 30 young people are planned to be engaged and there is a possibility of extending the number of job positions to 100 in Livno’s Technology Park.
One of Croatia’s most successful entrepreneurs, Mate Rimac, announced the establishment of a Technology Park in Livno on Tuesday, in order to hire and stop young people from leaving, as well as to attract investment in this area, which he himself openly considered to be the worst in Europe.
”Bosnia and Herzegovina has the worst economy in Europe. The situation is catastrophic,” said Rimac at Business Forum Livno 2018.
Mate Rimac was born in Livno, and together with the other Livno locals, he has begun on the establishment of a Technology Park in the city which will hopefully begin working in early September. The Park should help not only the economy, but young people living there, as well as strengthen Livno and BiH relations with the diaspora.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially the Livno region, are in a catastrophic state, and the diaspora has the knowledge and the capital and can turn trends. Our people from here are leaving to go and drive trucks and go into the construction industry. We want it to stop. We want to help young people in their very beginnings, with advice and infrastructure, and later assist them in other challenges,” Rimac added.
Professor Stipe Čelar also said that it is very important to attempt to change the habits of young people, especially when it comes to the seemingly very negative attitude towards the possibility of starting their own businesses.
The initiative of the establishment of the Technological Park was also given total support by the Mayor of Livno, Luka Čelan, who then announced that such a move will financially strengthen Livno’s capacities.
