ZET employees driving in areas where there is no kiosk at tram stops are the only ones from whom passengers actually buy tickets.
”One or none – that’s the number of tickets [we sell],” state Zagreb’s ZET drivers who are actually still managing to sell bus and tram tickets on a daily basis.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 15th of August, 2018, the way in which the decision to introduce ZET transport tickets which are almost four times more expensive is being described is that of a fiasco.
ZET public transport (bus and tram) tickets can be purchased outside the bus and tram, or at ZET bureaus or at kiosks. When purchases from a kiosk, the said kiosk takes four percent – Nobody buys and rather people come out of the bus, walk to the kiosk and return to the next on the timetable.
As mentioned, ZET drivers operating in areas in which there is no kiosk at the tram stop(s) are the only ones from whom passengers actually buy tickets. Drivers have also stated that from the 1st of July to the end of the month, they sold only about one hundred tickets in the vehicles themselves, Večernji list writes.
They go on to explain that ZET has gained a mere 1,500 kuna in income from the sale of tickets on board the vehicles. It is, in fact, an even smaller sum, as drivers receive 20 percent commission from tickets sold in the vehicles, meaning that unfortunately a considerable number of drivers received lower salaries this month, owing just to this commission.
