The new 2CELLOS album “Let There Be Cello” will be released on October 19, 2018.
Croatia’s most famous duo is back with new music and a new album set to hit the shelves this October, reports Sound Report on August 17, 2018.
“We always say we want to overthrow prejudices about the cello and the boundaries between musical genres. This album shows that. We’ve drawn inspiration from all sources, from pop hits to timeless classical music, from classic rock to film music. This album has a lot of that – including some 2CELLOS original songs. No rules, just that there has to be the cello,” the 2CELLOS announced.
Today they released a music video for their next hit, “Storm”.

The video, which is filmed in Croatia, is not lacking energy, dynamic cameras and explosive lighting to capture the drama of the song. There is even a warning at the beginning of the video informing viewers there will be flashing lights!
“We love Vivaldi’s drama, so we thought we could put the 2CELLOS into one of his most famous works – Storm. For the video we needed an appropriately dramatic and beautiful location – we found it in a quarry near Pula. The summer continues, but the storm is coming,” the famous duo added.
On the new album, Luka and Stjepan will also introduce two of their original songs we have yet to hear – “Concept2″ and “Cadenza”.
From pop hits and legendary compositions, among others, the 2CELLOS have chosen “Perfect” (Ed Sheeran), “Despacito” (Luis Fonsi), “Eye of the Tiger” (Survivor), “Imagine” (John Lennon), and “Hallelujah” (Leonard Cohen). The album will also feature “Seven Nation Army” (The White Stripes) played by 2CELLOS at the Champions League final in Ukraine.
Filip Vidović has produced the album with the 2CELLOS.
