ZAGREB, September 8, 2018 – The 6th edition of the World Literature Festival, which opened in Zagreb on September 2, on Friday hosted popular Portuguese author Jose Luis Peixot.
The festival, which closes on Saturday, hosted about 100 authors, artists, illustrators, filmmakers and translators from 17 countries. They participated in some 60 programmes, literary encounters, book launches, film screenings, round tables and concerts.
The guest of the first panel, “Disclosure”, was Polish author Olga Tokarczuk.
The festival’s creative director Seid Serdarević, editor in chief of the Fraktura publisher, said he was pleased that for the sixth year in a row Fraktura had managed to come up with a festival programme which attracted such a large audience.
Other renowned authors hosted at the festival were Richard Flanagan, Australian writer and winner of the Man Booker award, Israeli writer David Grossman, winner of the Man Booker International 2017 award, Nigerian writer with an American address Chigozi Obioma, the youngest finalist for the Man Booker award, Swedish author Jonas Hassen Khemiri, Hungarian author Andras Forgach, Croatian author Slavenka Drakulić, and Bulgarian author Georgi Gospodinov.
