The Good Food Festival will return to Croatia’s southernmost city once again, bringing with it an array of gastronomic delights.

The Good Food Festival is returning to Dubrovnik again, with all the rights, as its previous four editions have been a complete success all over the town.

This one is taking place between the 15th and the 21st of October, 2018, and its going to be more than easy to find something you like.

The Good Food Festival is not only a true gastronomic feast for everybody, it actually is an event covering gastronomy in a multitude of aspects. Food will be offered at a number of thematic dinners, gastro tours, presentations, workshops, lectures, and the traditional Healthy Goods and Homemade Goods Fair.

What might be difficult, though, is deciding which, among some thirty restaurants, to choose to eat at, as all of them will boast appositely composed menus at promotional prices over the whole week, or to learn about making some different types of food yourself by discovering some of the secrets revealed by prominent chefs at one of the many workshops. You can learn how to make some typical popular local sweets, or how to make some fancy-looking cocktails, for instance.

There is something for you even if you’re into photography! Maybe you’ve never thought of it, but taking a proper photo of a meal has its own secrets and unwritten rules, too.

They say that life in Dalmatia is all wine and music. There is going to be wine, lots of it, there is going to be lots of music as well. Yet, mind you, beer is not any less popular, at least as a wonderful bubbling refreshment on a warm day. The Good Food Festival week offers also an occasion for you to see first hand how craft beer, so globally popular recently, is made in Dubrovnik.

Gastro tours will also present a nice occasion on which to only to taste some selected food at selected places, but also to learn more about the immense history of Dubrovnik and to hear to some of the most interesting stories about it while walking around and enjoying the sights.

A perfect way to spend your morning, isn’t it?

Throughout the week, there is the traditional Healthy Homemade Goods Fair by the western City Gate, too, there, you can get some nice genuine souvenirs to take home, from home made soaps, liquors, honey, and herbal tea, to anything else produced by households from the City of Dubrovnik’s closer environment.

And there at the very end, the crown to all of the aforementioned, is the proverbial Dubrovnik ‘Trpeza’ (i.e. table), spread all along the length of the city’s famous main street. The table is approximately 200 metres long, with a multitude of participants offering anything from typical local and international dishes to sweets and drinks. It is important to empahsise the fact that the proceedings from the consumption go to charity, which is another reason to be there!

The Good Food Festival is truly something that must not be missed when in the Pearl of the Adriatic. For more details, timetables and events, please click here to visit the web page of its organiser, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board.
