Another award for Croatia’s celebrated photographers, Mario Romulic and Drazen Stojcic on October 11, 2018, this time in the world of stamps.
Another day, another medal in Croatia. Not for football this time, but the country’s excellent photography duo from Slavonia, Mario Romulic and Drazen Stojcic, have been awarded a bronze in the annual awards for the most beautiful stamp in Europe. The theme of this year’s competition was bridges, and the Osijek duo’s shot of the Franjo Tudjman Bridge in Dubrovnik on a stamp designed by Dean Roksandic – Bembelembe, was named the third best behind joint winners from Turkey and Belgium, according to the EUROPA Jury Competition.
“Bridges are a powerful element of the European architectural scene, which can reflect the cultural diversity present across the continent. It symbolises the spirit of unity between nations. Therefore, I was extremely pleased to see so many beautiful entries that could perfectly depict these elements. I have to congratulate all of the designers for being able to produce such great designs, they really made it difficult for the jury to elect this year’s winning stamp” commented Botond Szebeny, PostEurop Secretary General.
In addition to their outstanding photography, Romulic and Stojcic are well-known for their incredible timelapses of Croatia, some of the best online promotional material for Croatia. Check out Timelapse Croatia below.
