More than 807 films from 91 countries were introduced at this year’s Zagreb TourFilm Festival, and the best among them were screened during the last three days at Kaptol Boutique Cinema.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 13th of October, 2018, the promotional video of the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) “Ambassadors of Croatian Tourism” won the main prize in the category of “Best Croatian Tourist Film” at the 7th Zagreb TourFilm Festival.
“This new recognition makes us happy, as this is yet another confirmation that in Croatia, together with our partners, we’re create top quality promotional items which, aside from at the international level, are recognised by our own experts,” said HTZ director Kristjan Staničić, adding that special thanks goes out to anyone who has contributed in any way to making this promotional video.
The promotional video “Ambassadors of Croatian Tourism” was filmed in various recognisable locations across Croatia and ten well known Croats from the fields of sports and art starred in it, including Luka Modrić, Ivan Rakitić, Mario Mandžukić, Mateo Kovačić, Dejan Lovren, Dario Šarić, Marin Čilić, 2Cellos, Maksim Mrvica and Zrinka Cvitešić. In addition to the showcasing of famous Croatian destinations, the video also promotes other parts of Croatia’s tourist offer, such as its cultural and historical heritage, its eno-gastronomy, its active holiday offers, as well as its rich nautical and natural beauty.
It’s worth remembering that this year in Las Vegas, the promotional video from HTZ won the prestigious “Travel Video Award” in the category of “Best Video by a Tourism Organisation” upon the decision of the American professional and representative jury Citizine Networks, and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). In addition to the jury, the promotional video was also loved by the audience who, through online voting, proclained the Croatian promotional tourist video the best tourist promotional video for 2017.
“This award is especially great for us because it was won in Croatia,” said Barbara Mesić, the chief advisor to the Minister of Tourism, reiterating her appreciation once again to all of those involved who selflessly responded to the project and offered what they could purely on a humanitartian basis.
Luka Duboković, Executive Director of BBDO Zagreb, commented on the film’s winning of the award: “The entire team from BBDO Zagreb is extremely proud of the success of this video. It’s a great acknowledgment to its creators, but also to the entire team who worked on the project. Thanks also to the director Nevio Marasović and the Antitalent production company, who made a big contribution to the creation and production of this video.”
The promotional video from HTZ was otherwise one of a massive 263 nominated entries, of which 30 were awarded according to the expert jury’s ratings.
