October 20, 2018 – Continuing out look at how Croatia looked in years gone by, a visit to Konovle, south of Dubrovnik, way back in 1954, where life was not easy.
The area between Dubrovnik and the border with Montenegro is relatively undiscovered, as tourists tend to head between the two, but here is a region well worth spending a little time. Apart from a spectacular coastline, Konavle has a hard-working population who have kept the traditions and folklore of their ancestors extremely well. Here too you can take a tour and learn about their unique silk production, as well as tasting excellent local produce, from wines and olive oils to regional specialities.
