Due to intensified interest, two workshops were held instead of one, as it had been for the last four years. For the next year, several additional workshops for elementary school children from the Cetina Krajina region will be organized.

As in previous years, the children’s workshop was held in cooperation with the kindergarten “Bili Cvitak” and Mrs. Anom Glavinović who assisted Mr. Ivan Knezović in making the clay objects. At the end of the workshop, the proud participants brought their handicrafts with them to decorate their Kindergarten rooms. This year, the students of the Elementary Ivan Mažuranić from Obrovac in Sinj were also included in the workshops, who arrived with teacher Mrs. Grozdana Filipović – Grčić.

Mr. Ivan Knezović, who is the regular leader of these educational workshops, is also among the last to work in this traditional crafts. The traditional pottery of Potravlje has the status of immaterial cultural heritage since 2013, and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia has nominated the craft for the protection of UNESCO. It is of utmost importance to preserve this segment of Sinj’s traditional culture and enable it to continue by transferring it to younger generations. With this aim, the Sinj Tourist Board, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, holds these workshops of traditional pottery making from Potravlje.

Workshop participants received unique souvenirs that were personally designed by Mr. Ivan Knezović, and the youngest participants received little gingerbread souvenirs. In addition to these workshops, during the music part of the evening, the Association for the Preservation of the Cetinje Heritage performed, who occasionally perform the male and female rera at traditional festivals, which is also on the list of the intangible heritage of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia.
