Hajduk has confirmed the news that 18-year-old Ante Palaversa signed for English Premier League club Manchester City.

Ante Palaversa is a new member of Manchester City! The 18-year-old midfielder has signed a contract with the Premier League champion after successful medical tests on Tuesday, reports Gol.hr on January 31, 2019.

Palaversa will remain at Hajduk on loan, however, until the summer of 2020 with a clause that Manchester City could recall him in January of the same year.

Hajduk will immediately receive 4.8 million euro, and will receive an additional 1.5 million euro when the loan ends at Poljud. With various bonuses, this figure can be further increased, but it will depend on whether Palaversa plays for City’s first team. Hajduk should also receive 10 percent of Palaversa’s future transfer.

After Palaversa signed in Manchester, he returned to Split where he will continue to train with Hajduk.

“I am a child of Hajduk, playing at Poljud was always my dream, and after everything, I’m happy that the work of the Hajduk Academy was recognized by one of the biggest clubs in the world. Thanks to Manchester City on their trust, there is still a lot of work ahead of me, I have not shown everything I can, and I hope I will be able to justify the great confidence I have gained from the England champions,” Palaversa said after returning from Manchester.

Palaversa’s signing came the day after Manchester City’s Rabbi Matondo signed for Schalke, with a contract worth 9.6 million pounds. Manchester Evening News presented Palaversa’s biography and player details, and also talked about his style of play,

“Palaversa is described as adept as playing possession based football from deep or more advanced.

The Independent say the midfielder likes to pick up the ball in free spaces and switch the play. He has an 85% passing success rate as he attempts to play balls in behind the defence.

As well as being comfortable on the ball, Palaversa is no stranger to a tackle, winning 61% of duels – which rises to 79% for aerial challenges,” said the Manchester Evening News. You can read more about it here
