March 25, 2019 – It is the news that many ‘Ultranauts’ around the world have been waiting for… Ultra Europe, the world’s only destination festival, has finally revealed the second phase of performers set to take the stage in Split this summer.
Namely, Above & Beyond, Adam Beyer, Afrojack, Alesso, Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox, The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, DJ Snake, Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati, Maceo Plex, Marco Carola and Richie Hawtin have made this year’s Ultra Europe performer list, which will have more than 250 when all is said and done.
It is well known that the most prominent trio in the history of the electronic scene, Swedish House Mafia, is also coming to Split, and with the announcement of the new Worldwide stage, the festival will also feature Croatian group Vatra, which will present an entirely new sound and style to thousands of festival goers.
Poljud will also host two French superstars this year. The first in the list is DJ Snake, who has become a real global sensation. His latest hit Taki Taki, with Selena Gomez, counts more than a billion views on Youtube in just four months. His name is linked to numerous musical collaborations like Justin Bieber on the song Let Me Love You and Major Lazer’s hit Lean On, which recorded as many as two billion views on Youtube and is one of the most listened to songs in the history of Spotify.
Davida Guetta does not need a special presentation. The love affair between Guetta and his Ultranauts is complicated to describe with words, though you might know a few of his songs, like his latest hit, Say My Name, which has been spinning on all radio stations and international clubs for months.
After last year’s unforgettable show that opened with the Croatian fan hymn, The Chainsmokers are preparing an even better treat for Ultra’s seventh edition – they will play live on the main stage, with vocals and instruments. In the last few months they have released two singles, Hope and Who Do You Love, which will undoubtedly be found on their Ultra set list this year.
Ultra’s seventh edition can boast even stronger names for the RESISTANCE stage. In addition to striking looks, this stage attracts more and more fans all over the world with its addictive musical style and sound. This year, Cuban-American award-winning DJ and producer Maceo Plex will make his premiere. Just how popular he is can be seen by the fact that he had one of the most visited residences at Club Pacha in Ibiza for years.
The multiple award-winning British-Canadian DJ Richie Hawtin will also taste the charms of Poljud for the first time. What has marked his work in the past year is the 75-minute audio-visual show CLOSE – SPONTANEITY & SYNCHRONICITY. Using intimate cameras, he explores the relationship between human creativity and innovative technologies that allow the freedom of improvisation. This relationship between man and machine takes place on the screen in real-time, approaching the audience with Hawtin’s intuitive gestures.
Swedish techno and tech house producer Adam Beyer will return to Split after six years, as will Above & Beyond, an English trance, progressive and big room group, and Alesso, a Swedish DJ who has marked the international EDM scene in recent years. Just a few days ago, Alesso released his latest single, Time, and his performances are inconceivable without the now legendary singles Heroes, Calling, created in collaboration with Sebastian Ingrosso, and Remedy.
Ultra Europe will take place at Poljud stadium in Split from July 12 to 14, 2019.
