This new Zagreb Airport project is worth nine million kuna and the one at the Sibenik metallurgical company amounts to 264,000 euros.
As Poslovni Dnevnik/Darko Bicak writes on the 5th of March, 2020, the Croatian subsidiary of the Slovenian company Resalta will deliver thermal energy to Zagreb Airport (Franjo Tudjman) in the next twenty years, which is the concession of the majority French consortium Zagreb International Airport (MZLZ).
The large nine million kuna project will improve energy efficiency at Croatia’s largest airport.
According to Denis Nikola Kulisic, the director of Resalta Croatia, the contract states that the company will sell thermal energy to Zagreb Airport, provide management and maintenance of the heat production system, as well as offer 24/7 customer service.
“Resalta has completed the total reconstruction of the largest boiler room at Zagreb Airport. To solve the problem of system obsolescence and the reliability of heat production, three existing 2.3 MW boilers were dismantled and two new ones were installed on natural gas, both with 4.2 MW each, as well as one 6 MW burner for gas and fuel oil. A new control system was installed, as well as all related mechanical and electrical installations, and a completely renovated boiler room facility,” Kulisic said.
He added that the twenty-year contract includes guarantees for boilers and all of their associated equipment, as well as regular servicing and emergency maintenance of the system for the production and delivery of heat.
“The client’s only obligation is a monthly payment for the heat consumed. The long-term delivery of heat is one of our most important services as customers are increasingly understanding the benefits of outsourcing energy services,” emphasised Kulisic.
Zagreb’s new airport terminal opened back in 2017, with 3.45 million passengers and a massive thirteen thousand tons of cargo passing through it last year.
MZLZ had previously announced that they were seriously planning to expand Zagreb Airport’s capacity from the existing five million passengers up to eight million, and Resalta has assured that they are ready for this expansion as well.
Resalta is also engaged in two more significant industrial projects in the Republic of Croatia. These are Impol TLM in the Dalmatian city of Sibenik where a contract was signed at the end of last year and the works will be completed by the middle of this month. It regards a high-efficiency lighting project replacing 560 existing lamps with 395 new LEDs.
The contract with TLM has been signed for a five-year period and the value of the investment stands at the previously mentioned 264,000 euros. The second project is related to Harburg Freudenberger Belisce (HFB) Croatia where Resalta has been operating a biomass boiler room for two years now, thus realising a green energy project and ensuring efficient heating for the needs of HFB and seven other smaller companies operating within the Belisce business zone.
