Dugopolje Records More than 50,000 Arrivals in 2017!

The Municipality of Dugopolje was one of the most successful municipalities of Inland Dalmatia in the 2017 tourist year.

Precisely, 52,111 tourists visited Dugopolje last year, which is an increase of 72.5% compared to 2016. During the same period, 68,431 overnight stays were recorded, which is an increase of 62% compared to 2016.

Most of the guests stayed at the Katarina Hotel in the Podi-Dugopolje economic zone (50,943 tourists), who realized 60,231 overnight stays. Most guests at the Katarina hotel came from South Korea (30%), Spain (18%), Japan (12%) and China (8%).

Private accommodations saw 1,168 guests who realized 8,200 overnight stays – and guests stayed on average for seven days. Most guests who used private accommodation came from Germany (14%), the U.K. (13%) and France (10%). In the area of the Dugopolje municipality, 21 properties are currently registered, of which 18 are holiday houses with swimming pools. Most of the owners of these facilities are local inhabitants of Dugopolje and its surroundings.

Considering the positive trends with private renters, the further development of the tourist infrastructure, the very beginning of the construction for the Central Dalmatia Visitor’s Center, and the construction of several cycling retreats in the area of Dugopolje, the Dugopolje Tourist Board hopes to be even more successful in 2018!
