Organized by the Sinj Tourist Board, from August 2-4, 2018, the 9th Sinj Village Fair will be held at Franjo Tuđman Square.

The event should see more than 40 exhibitors from Split, Kaštela, Vrgorac, Zagorje and the Cetina Krajina who will present and offer a variety of products – from ornaments to handicrafts to gourmet delicacies and products from the villages and islands. In order to preserve the traditional crafts, a promotion of the traditional pottery of Potravlje will be held during the fair. Visitors will have an opportunity to see how the clay pots are made under the hands of pottery master Ivan Knezović. This traditional craft has been nominated by the Ministry of Culture for UNESCO protection, and the Tourist Board, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, organizes an exceptionally well-attended educational workshop every year. It is also worth mentioning the almost forgotten skill of craftsmanship (Ljilja Vojković) and wooden tools (Jozo Bešlić).

Visitors will have a precious opportunity to get closer and connect with the customs of the region through indigenous products and traditional crafts.

A wine tasting will be organized within the fair which will include Sinj’s very own Hrvaština and Maraština by local producer OPG Mažurin, and Sinj’s best gastronomic delicacies – Sinj arambaša and fry bread. The Cetina region, due to the richness of the plant world, is extremely suitable for beeswax. To the joy of many breeders, the result is honey of high quality, which will also delight guests.

Besides the exhibition and enogastronomic area, visitors will enjoy the entertainment program with the participation of numerous associations and cultural-artistic companies. Guests will be able to see the performances of the Sinj majorettes, KUD Cetina, KUD Vrilo, Association for the preservation of the heritage of Cetina region, and HKUD of Peruća. Traditional folk dancing will be performed, as well as traditional singing.

On August 3rd, the country group Ljuta Kuća will perform. At the presentation of the Airsoft Club Ghost Division Sinj, visitors will be able to find out everything they wish about the increasingly popular sporting activity.

By organizing the Sinj Village Fair, the Sinj Tourist Board offers interested citizens and visitors a chance to taste and buy high-quality traditional domestic products that are usually difficult to find because most of them are not available in stores. At the same time, small and medium-sized farms from the rural area of Sinj and its surroundings and other parts of Croatia help to promote and sell their products.

Last year’s fair experienced exceptional attendance and this year will see even more exhibitors from all over Croatia, and at least 20% of local producers.
