Journalists and Photographers of Czech and Italian Portals Visit Sinj and Cetina Region

On Tuesday, June 26, as part of the permanent tourism promotion, the Croatian National Tourist Board and the Tourist Board of Split-Dalmatia County, in cooperation with the local tourist community, welcomed the arrival of Czech journalist Jaroslav Halamka to the town of Sinj. Halamka is a journalist who writes for the popular web portal www.idnes.cz which sees 6.250.000 monthly visits. Its travel section specializes in promoting active tourism such as hiking, trekking, cycling, canoeing, and horse racing, and also popularizes natural heritage, healthy lifestyle, gastronomy, enology, historical sights, culture, and art.

The tour of the city started with the walk to the fortress Kamičak and a climb to the Sinj Fortress City trail from the crossroads. After panoramic photography of Sinj and the Cetina region, there was a tour of the numerous sights of Sinj. The Czech journalist first visited the Church of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj, and then the Sinj Alka Museum. Halamka was delighted with the design and the long-standing tradition of the museum.

After the morning tour of the monumental and cultural heritage of Sinj, the afternoon was reserved for natural sights and gastronomy. Along with Nikola Efendić, part of the hotel staff at Alkar, the journalist traveled on the thematic trails of the Cetina river with buggy vehicles, passing through Glavice, Otok, Gal, Obrovac Sinjski, Bajagić and Rumin to Panj and Hrvace, where he was acquainted with the natural beauties and the possibilities provided by the numerous thematic trails and cultural heritage on their routes. The traditional gastronomic offer was presented in the beautiful ambiance of restaurant Kod Frane, located near the source of the River Ovrlja, along with the remains of the mills and the stone bridge which is also part of the pilgrimage path to Our Lady of Sinj.

On the rest of Hlamka’s stay in Split-Dalmatia County, he will visit the Imotski region, Biokovo Mountain, Makarska, and Brač Island.

A few days ago, photographer Stipe Šurac, who works for the Italian magazine Bell’Europa-Bell’Italia, published by Cairo Editore, was welcomed to the Cetina Region. To promote cyclo-tourism in Split-Dalmatia County, Šurac was accompanied by Mr. Ivan Bašić, President of BK Kamešnica -Otok, and photographed the most beautiful areas along the existing bicycle routes of the towns and municipalities including Split, Sinj, Otok, Makarska, Brela, Trogir, Trilj, Tučepi, and Podgora.
