The Sinj Tourist Board organizes a traditional music evening with “Sudar Percussion.”
As part of this year’s event, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, the City of Sinj, and the Tourist Board of Split-Dalmatia County, on July 7th, a unique ensemble of Samobor percussion comes to Sinj.
Since 2010, Sudar Percussion has held an enviable number of concerts and tours in Croatia and abroad, playing concerts at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, Big Concert Hall, Vatroslav Lisinski (2012 and 2014), Split Summer, Ohrid Summer, Podgorica, EXPO Exhibition in Milan 2015, BUMfest in Slovenia, DamFest in Priština, and Zagreb’s Cultural Summer at Lake Bundek.
Sudar Percussion has also cooperated with many famous artists and ensembles of the world including Zagreb soloists Stefan Milenković, HRT tamburitza orchestra, Simply Brass Quintet, I: NK Experiment duo, Matej Meštrović and Darko Sedak Benčić (trumpet), who plays as a soloist in the OXYGENE project. Major projects include The Film Project, M. Meštrović: Eat Suite, A. Vivaldi: 4 seasons, C. Orff: Carmina Burana, Rock In, and the current project “OXYGENE” by J.M.Jarre. Sudar Percussion was the winner of the prestigious American Independent Music Awards of the year in 2015 with the album Eat Suite.
The ensemble consists of Filip Merčep (marimba), Nicolas Sinković (electronics and percussion), Adriano Bernobić (drums), Aleksander Vešić (bass guitar), Robert Batelić (piano) and founder and artistic director Goran Gorše (vibrafon).
In September 2016, at the International Day of the Protection of the Ozone Layer, Sudar Percussion promoted a new video spot for the song of “Oxygen IV” by French composer Jean Michel Jarre, directed by Sandre Mihaljević. The Oxygen IV film received critical acclaim, not just from the audience, but from Jean Michel Jarre himself and his record label Francis Dreyfus Music, BMG France, with whom they now have international cooperation.
Sudar Percussion will promote the new album Oxygene as a multimedial spectacle on a grand summer tour in 2017. In Sinj, they will perform some additional compositions by Nicola Sinkovic.
The start of the concert is scheduled for 21:30 in the beautiful Alka courtyard.
