First Open Air Thrill Blues Festival to be Held in Trilj this July

Daniela Rogulj

This summer, Trilj will host the very first Thrill Blues Festival!

The first announcement of the festival already promises a fully fledged good and bluesy time, with headline performances by Eric Sardinas & Big Motor and legendary Montenegrin blues band Light Under The Black Mountain. The mood will be further enhanced by the sounds of Rijeka guitarist Hal, Sinj band Dbluz, Split’s very own Sunnysiders, and Trilj’s local force Ozone.

The program also boasts an educational aspect, which is not surprising because artistic director of the festival, Boris Hrepić (Hrepa), is known for promoting music, especially blues, among the younger generations. Thus, the morning hours of the festival will be dedicated to educating the young people through “The blues hour”, during which students will be familiarized with blues as a form of music, how it is performed, the instruments used, and more.

In addition, the festival will also show a documentary about Hrepa’s stay in soft blues, southern Mississippi and Georgia. The film “With the Blues to the South” covers the areas of Memphis, Atlanta, Macon, and Clarksdale.

For the cultural character of the program, there will be a gastronomic show complete with local dishes, and in between performances Denis Bižaca will present many fun and educational quizzes about the Trilj region.

The festival will be held on July 14, 2017. More information coming soon!
