The concept of model aviation is vast and encompasses many categories and types, from simple paper jet aircraft to jet-engine models of aircraft and helicopters. There are branches of aviation that people of all ages can enjoy.
The aerial model designs fly in various types, such as the free flying model, and most common are gliders, models with tires, and models with motors. Models are made of various types of materials such as wood, metals, and plastic.

In Croatia, under the auspices of the Croatian Aviation Association, the focus is on sport (competitive) aviation and rocket modeling.
In Vrlika next weekend, the F1ABC State Championship will be held.
The categories include:
F1A – glider models of 32 to 34 dm2 and a minimum weight of 410 grams. Using a narrow length of 50 meters, these have a high start and the maximum flight time is 180 seconds. There are 7 rounds, and in the case of more full-fledged competitors, a fly-off.
F1B models with a rubber engine of 17 to 19 dm2, a minimum weight of 230 grams, of which max 30 grams of rubber. The model starts from the hand, and after using the accumulated energy of the rubber engine, it flies as a glider.
F1C models with an internal combustion engine, a start up to 5 seconds after which they fly as a glider. Everything else as in F1A and F1B.
In addition to State Championship, World and Croatian cups, the World and European championships are also held.
The F1ABC State Championship will be held in Vrlika near Brzica from 9:00-14:00.
