Event Program For Dubrovnik – ”Silence Please!” Film And The City From 1919

Lauren Simmonds

”Tisina molim!” Film i Grad od 1919 (Silence please! – Film and the City since 1919) will be held from the 24th of April to the 30th of April 2017 in Dubrovnik.

As reported by Glas Grada on the 12th of April 2017, this year’s program of the festival will show the national premier of the Indian film ”Fan” which was filmed in Dubrovnik and tells the bizarre story of a man (Shah Rukh Khan) who develops a self-consuming obsession with a film star who looks just like him. The program offers lectures from historian Daniel Rafaelic and a panel discussion on film tourism (a topic which has become very important in Dubrovnik over the past year or so), which will be attended by Ms. Pilar Fernandez Quelor, the president of the Spanish Film Commission of Andalucia. A cinematic tour through the city led by a licensed tour guide, a children’s race, a film quiz and a film workshop for the kids are all part of 2017’s carefully put-together event program prepared by organisers in an effort to appeal to all ages.
