Badija Island

Daniela Rogulj

Located in the eastern part of the Pelješac Channel, Badija is an islet with a surface area of around 1 km2. Badija is covered by macchia thickets and pine woods, and its highest point is merely 74 m. In Badija lies a Gothic monastery and church, dating back to 1420. The monastery can be visited today. Visitors to Badija can also find the15th-century Sv. Katarina chapel, located just behind the monastery. Badija is a wonderful islet to visit by boat and easy to manage for a day trip and a nice swim.
